King of Nations Exhibition Match - Australia

Federal Tyres King of Nations headed to Calder Park Raceway in Melbourne, Australia for the 26th event of an incredible 27 event 2016 calendar alongside Drift Challenge Australia.

Drivers put up some of the most impressive fights we've seen throughout the year to fight for the top places and also pave their way for a trip to compete in the 2017 Federal Tyres King of Europe series.

It would be the steep-banked NASCAR Thunderdome section of Calder Raceway Circuit, which has also previously hosted series such as the World Touring Car Championship and V8 Supercars, which would set the ultimate test for the drivers.

As the judges configured the layout, it would be the ultimate test for the drivers. Featuring steep banking followed by extremely tight technical corners corners which left drivers heading towards solid concrete walls, leaving absolutely no margin for error.

This didn't stop King of Nations driver Luke Fink from proving why he's undoubtedly one of the best drivers in the competition. After having minimal practice in a borrowed KE70 Toyota Corolla he nailed the complex layout, taking the highest qualifying score of the day.

Second place would go to Matt Harvey after showing superb consistency throughout the day.

Jason Ferron landed third place in his impressive unique 1JZ R31 Nissan Skyline Wagon.

As the Top 16 battles got underway Andrew Woolfe and Dale Campaign set the standard for the close battles that were to come, with Woolfe edging past his opponent to face top qualifier Luke Fink in the Top 8.

Woolfe would continue to perform for the judges as he surpassed King of Nations driver and top qualifier Fink to land his place in the Top 4.

Jason Ferron and Matt Harvey would also defeat their competitors to come face-to-face for yet another intense showdown as they fought for the remaining spots.

After an extremely intense small final between 2016 King of Europe competitor Brodie Moore and Jason Ferron, it would be Brodie Moore who edged past his opponent to secure his deserved podium position.

As the main final got underway, it would feature two drivers who had been on stunning form throughout the event. The fans looked on as Andrew Woolfe and Matt Harvey battled it out for the vital victory and a trip to Europe!

After yet more incredibly close-fought battles, it would eventually fall down to the judges who decided that the hard work paid off for Matt Harvey as he deservedly takes the winners trophy and the opportunity to continue his fight in Europe!

What other way to end the event than in true Aussie style with celebratory burnouts?!
